Our Service Department

McLachlan Automotives Service Department is lead by Mike Degan

The main focus of the Service Department is Preventative Maintenance.
Each and every time your vehicle is serviced our journeyman technicians spend at minimum of one hour giving your prised possession a careful inspection.

The purpose of this is to make sure that our customers have the best chance of trouble free driving.

In over 28 years of automotive business in Trail, the basic philosophy of McLachlan Automotive is "Maintenance customers are happy customers because they have few if any break-downs.
Break-down customers are usually a little less happy because of two basic reasons.
1: Break-downs are almost always an inconvenience.
2. Bread-downs almost always cost more.

Maintenance versus Break-down

Experience really helps and McLachlan Automotive has been in business for almost 28 years.
Our experience tells us that Maintenance Customers are usually happier because they have little or no inconvenient break-downs plus they can budget for future maintenance.
Breakdown Customers save in the beginning but may end up paying more in the end plus the inconvenience of a lengthy break-down time.

As an example: Automatic transmissions require fluid service changes, known as transmission flushing, in specific intervals.
A transmission flush can cost as little as $150.00 and can be scheduled at the customers convenience.
If you never service your transmission the likelihood of a major failure increases dramatically.
Automatic transmissions can cost up $5,000.00 and take weeks to repair.
The cost of repair is bad enough, but couple that with Murphy's Law. How much do you want to bet it would fail at your most inconvenient time?

Service Hours of Operation:

Starting mid February 2010, McLachlan's Service Department will be open Monday to Friday from 8AM to 6PM and Saturday's from 9AM to 4PM.

Service Specials:

Lube, Oil and Filter Maintenance package.
Includes:
            25 point inspection
            Up to 5L of Premium Engine oil and filter
            These services are performed by journeyman automotive technicians.
            The price of this one hour service is only $34.95 on most cars and light trucks.
